USPC BoG Votes 11-6-09 - READ ME!

News Flash: USPC BoG meeting 11-7-09 decisions of note
• HM tracks – Proposal due in Annual meeting for HM track starting at D3.
• HB – HA direct progression permitted effective Jan 1, 2010
• Dressage track/Specialty ratings to D level – Asking for “2 proposals by Annual Meeting for taking show jumping and dressage specialties down to the D1 level”
• “Virtual badge” achievement program - IT ad hoc team takes as non-urgent action item.
• Western track - Moved to investigate developing a potential standard for the western discipline that would encourage them to join our organization and be part of our community.

Let's not have club group pages here, too many!

Just a reminder, with 600+ clubs in the country, we can't really host indiv.club groups on this Ning site. I would recommend that clubs consider starting their own social media pages using Ning or another similar product. Just trying to keep our page manageable!

Thanks, Nancy A, USPC Communications Committee

I use hunter green with yellow piping and so on. So then, it will match the elastic on girths and breastplates, so Rocky looks like a horse beast! Hahah, and then I use royal blue and white for Frosty.

Dark blue with green and white trim -- pretty boring, but I like to think of it as "tasteful."

Fall Ratings

Completed two ratings this weekend.
The Metropolitan C1 rating at Kelsey Farm was successful. Three new C1s completed their test with positive results.
The New York Upper Connecticut region held a large rating at Riga Meadow. 7 C1 and 4 C2 candidates completed their rating. All candidates did a good job and a few will retest their weaker sections. Thanks to upper level members who helped with the unmounted portions. Peer to Peer learning and sharing experience makes a huge difference to the memb… Continue

Auditing Hubertus Schmidt symposium

Watched 8 riders work with gold medalist and trainer's trainer Hubertus Schmidt today. He was a facinating clinican able to get to the edge of each horse's ability and make improvements in core reactions. He rode 3 horses and performed classical movements making corrections demonstrating superb feel and timing. It was an excellent opportunity to continue to learn and develop my eye.

USDF - NEDA Fall symposium with Herbertus Schmidt

Going to attend the USDF - NEDA Fall symposium with Herbertus Schmidt this weekend to continue education on classical dressage. Last weekend, I participated in the USDF Charlotte Bredahl-Baker Adult Clinic. She was wonderful. "Listen to your horse, they will tell you what to do." One of the most interesting facts learned was the problem of neautralizing the aids making them less effective. The group focused on the training scale with every horse and rider from training to grand prix, Basic princ… Continue
